Jazsalyn: Warpmode, This is not a game! is a digital artwork by the Whitney Museum of American Art's artport portal for Internet and new media art. It expands Warpmode, a worldbuilding toolkit of forty prompt-based player cards that the artist created with the curatorial project Black Beyond and published through Metalabel in 2024 to contemplate multidimensional layers of Blackness through four Black Metatheories—Afrofuturism, Afronowism, Afrovoidism, and Afropocalypse. The digital version frames this toolkit as Ancestral Intelligence, the earliest knowledge systems and traditions passed down through generations in Indigenous and diasporic communities, proposing an alternative form of AI rooted in human experience. Visitors' anonymous responses become part of the artwork.
