Activating the Decolonization Rider is a two-part presentation about a tool for advancing decolonization within cultural institutions while protecting artists, their work and collaborators. The first session at Abrons Arts Center, part of the Kinstillatory Fire through Movement Research's Studies Project program, is centered toward artists, scholars and makers who work with institutions. It focuses on how the Decolonization Rider protects their work and supports them in shaping safer, more equitable engagements with institutions. It is offered in collaboration with New York Live Arts, Movement Research and Abrons Arts Center.
