La Distance is a theater piece set in the year 2077, where humanity struggles to survive on earth and a daughter chooses life in exile on Mars, leaving her father to grapple with love, loss, and connections across unnavigable distances. It was written and directed by Tiago Rodrigues, who also created By Heart and Catarina and the Beauty of Killing Fascists, and premiered at the Festival d'Avignon in 2025. Alison Dechamps and Adama Diop perform on a visually stunning rotating stage in this North American premiere. Le Monde called it an intense, captivating show that has the public on the edge of their seats.
