An evening lecture titled "Hunger Games: The Art of Adapting Fiction into Film", part of a series of talks given in bars. Professor Isabella Tecson, an English and film criticism professor, script doctor and award-winning playwright, uses Suzanne Collins' bestselling series as a case study to show how a novel is reshaped for the screen. She explores the differences between modern novels and screenplays, why a truly faithful adaptation is impossible and why that can benefit storytelling. The talk looks at how narrative, character and world-building change in cinema and runs about two hours.
