An exhibition opening for Linda Mary Montano's show "Flying the Coop", running from October 30 to December 5, 2026. Montano is a pioneering performance artist whose new series of drawings depicts flying chickens with beating red hearts, rendered on her mother's old handkerchiefs and hung on clotheslines while the song "Chicken Dance" plays. The show also includes a digital archive of her video art spanning decades and exploring topics such as Alzheimer's, religion, poverty, and the seven chakras. Now 84, Montano embraces aging, simplicity, her Catholic faith, and family memories in this meditation on what comes next.
