A conference on whether psychoanalysis can extend to artificial intelligence, asking if large language models could have an 'algorithmic unconscious' or whether their structure rules out a divided subject. It is presented by the Philosophy department at The New School for Social Research and takes place over two days. The Friday session features a keynote by Adrian Johnston, Chair of Philosophy at the University of New Mexico, titled 'Oedipus in the Clouds: An Infinite Greed for Knowledge'. The Saturday session brings talks by Todd McGowan, Patricia Clough and Luca Possati, lunch, and a closing roundtable moderated by McGowan.
