Short Attention Span Cinema: Let's Keep This Conversation to a Minimum is a new short film in 4 chapters, presented at IFC Center as part of its ongoing Short Attention Span Cinema program. It is by Maira Kalman and Alex Kalman and offers tiny portraits of Clara Schumann, Cicero, Martha Graham and Franz Kafka through the eyes of laughter. A new chapter, each a few minutes long, plays each week: Cicero on Betrayal, Martha Graham on Mortality, Clara Schumann on Love, and Franz Kafka on Hope. The artists describe their subject as how wonderful and terrible things are at the exact same time, with laughter and tears.
