A storytime event presenting the picture book "Ege and Ávra" at Powerhouse at Columbus Circle. It is by Evgenia Mantikas and Elifgül Büyükoral, and the book is Mantikas's first. The story follows Ege, a girl from Türkiye, and Ávra, a girl from Greece, whose fishing lines cross while they fish with their grandfathers on the Aegean Sea; initial anger gives way to laughter, food, and prayer, a tale of friendship and understanding across cultural divides.
