The Challah-verse Ambassadors: Jewish Community, Braided Together is a volunteering session in which participants bake and deliver challah to homebound seniors, local firehouses, police precincts, and shelters. Challah Ambassadors deliver freshly baked loaves with a note of blessing each Friday before Shabbat, within a 20-block radius of the JCC on the Upper West Side. The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is behind the event, which invites people to move from consuming Jewish life online to active, visible participation through simple gestures that build community. The drop-offs can be done solo or with a buddy.
