An evening of close reading and discussion centered on an essay by Toni Morrison, whose work is presented as a case study in the powers of human attention. It is led by Prof. Namwali Serpell, a novelist, critic, and scholar of English at Harvard and author of On Morrison (Hogarth 2026). The reading is followed by a Q&A with Prof. Serpell on Morrison's work as a whole.
