Scandinavia House presents a screening of the documentary The Ground Beneath Our Feet, Iceland's official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards, followed by a talk with director Yrsa Roca Fannberg. The film takes place inside Grund, Iceland's oldest retirement home in Reykjavik, and follows the rhythm of the seasons rather than the end of life. With warmth and sensitivity, it captures everyday moments — joys, quiet routines, small miracles, and simple interactions — celebrating the lives of the elders and life itself. A critic has praised its poetic eye for the small mysteries of everyday life.
