A screening of the film "The Killing of a Sacred Deer." Director Yorgos Lanthimos made this disquieting Greek tragedy transplanted to the American suburbs a year before his popular success with The Favourite. It stars Colin Farrell as Steven Murphy, a cardiothoracic surgeon who opens his home to a fatherless 16-year-old played by Barry Keoghan, inviting a terrible retribution that threatens Murphy's wife, played by Nicole Kidman, and her teenaged children. The Observer called it an increasingly sickening hunger game laced with Lanthimos's trademark off-kilter artifice and deadpan humour.
