Turn the volume up! is an exhibition of photographs, paintings, prints, sculpture, installation, and archival materials from the Nasher Museum's collection connected to social justice and community organizing. It examines how artists, activists, and everyday people have used their voices to challenge injustice, build communities, and shape public life. Organized by curator Xuxa Rodríguez with support from Julianne Miao, it is divided into five thematic sections: Remarks, Organize, Records, Dissents, and Petitions, and features artists such as Kara Walker, Carrie Mae Weems, Guerrilla Girls, and Sam Durant. The title references Zohran Mamdani's quotation of KRS-One's 2020 anthem after his election victory.
