Volunteer with Backpack Buddies is a volunteer session where participants pack and deliver backpacks with free meals for school-aged children facing weekend food insecurity. It is run by members of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, who have carried out this work for over 10 years. While many children are eligible for free breakfast and lunch during the week, these benefits do not extend into weekends or school breaks, leaving many without the food they need.
