A cinema is showing the fantasy classic "Die unendliche Geschichte" (The NeverEnding Story). Young Bastian discovers a fantastical world called Phantásien in an old book, threatened by the Nothing, and while reading realizes he himself plays a decisive role in saving it. The film by director Wolfgang Petersen, starring Noah Hathaway, Barret Oliver and Tami Stronach, blends real and fairy-tale levels into an adventurous journey full of imagination, courage and self-discovery. With iconic characters like Fuchur, Atréju and the Childlike Empress, it stands as a milestone of 1980s fantasy cinema.
