The documentary film "Freedom – Le Destin de Shewit" follows Shewit, who at fifteen arrives alone in Switzerland after fleeing Eritrea at risk of her life. To escape oppression and a tormenting past, she travels for two years to the land of her dreams and hopes. Seven years after her flight she still lives without a residence permit, faces deportation and keeps fighting to become a free woman. Director Anne-Frédérique Widmann filmed her struggle for emancipation over more than ten years.
