Dr. Cecilia Rikap, an economist at University College London, draws on her book "The Rulers" to show how Amazon, Microsoft, and Google use cloud credits, strategic acquisitions, and open-source strategies to create lasting dependencies — among innovators and even sovereign nations. She examines how these corporations gain political sway. The talk closes by asking how technology can be reclaimed for the public good. Sign-up is required.
