The exhibition 'Out of Service? – Swiss Sacred Architecture in Transformation' presents historical and contemporary projects from Switzerland showing how empty religious buildings can be transformed. It is an exhibition by ZAZ BELLERIVE, curated by Fabian Ruppanner and Nora Hochuli. As many places of worship increasingly stand empty and their upkeep becomes difficult, parishes are seeking alternative property strategies. Ranging from removed church pews to demolition, the many paths of transformation are meant to foster a collective discourse on the transformation and preservation of sacred buildings.
