A guest lecture by Adrian Pöllinger on the actual assembly processes of prefabricated buildings and the actors often overlooked in them. It is hosted by the Chair of Construction Heritage and Preservation at ETH Zurich, as part of the lecture series «Future Monuments». Using Jean Prouvé's ateliers in Maxéville and a rural school from the 1950s as examples, the talk shows what formative role site erectors could play on the construction site. It also examines the conflicts between industrial building methods and local craftsmanship in the context of prefabrication.
