BAföG day of action: students rally for real reform.

Decentralised nationwide actions take place on International Students Day. Organised by the federal students' union, they protest against the cost-of-living and housing crises and call for student funding that finances everyone who needs it, plus affordable housing. The Bundestag will vote on a reform bill at the end of December, and the day aims to make loud and clear that cosmetic adjustments help no one – instead a completely different system is demanded. The occasion reaches back to the international day created in 1941 in memory of the anti-fascist uprising of Prague students on 17 November 1938.
