Edward Said: Between Worlds, documentary with a talk after.

Edward Said: Between Worlds is a documentary about the Palestinian-American academic, musician and intellectual Edward Said, presented as its German premiere and followed by a conversation. Director and producer Maiken Baird draws on unrestricted access to Said's family and estate to trace his political awakening, his personal struggles and his lifelong confrontation with being driven from his homeland. Using previously unreleased material from the family archive, private film footage, rarely seen television appearances, lectures and holdings from Columbia University, the film spans seven decades from Said's childhood in Jerusalem to his death in New York. After the screening, the director, producer Sarah Mowaswes and Mariam Said will talk with each other.
