Wir sind mehr: a storytelling evening with Hakaya 2.0.

A storytelling evening with a performance in Kurdish (Kurmancî), Arabic and German that blends physical theatre and the art of storytelling. At its centre is King Horst, whose ordered realm begins to shake when the mountains tremble, a huge chasm opens and people stream in waving colourful flags, shouting, singing and telling their tales of resistance – among them Sinam, whose head smokes with worry, Maria, who tricked the priest, and the Palestinian princess who captured the sun. The two performers of Hakaya 2.0 move with ease between figures and languages, taking the audience along and opening current questions of borders and walls, political struggles and international solidarity. The evening is a cooperation between the Mittelpunktbibliothek Namık Kemal/Wilhelm Liebknecht and Kotti e.V. marking the association's 40th anniversary, funded as part of the Kotti-Lab project within the Programme Social Cohesion.
