Etran de L'Aïr play live surf rock from the desert, building hypnotic, sun-glazed songs. The family collective was formed in 1995 in Agadez, Niger, the capital of Tuareg desert guitar. Their sound draws on Northern Malian blues, Hausa bar bands, and Congolese Soukous, with interlocking electric guitars creating a trance-like groove meant for movement and community. Since 2020 they have brought this sound to stages across North America, Europe, the UK, Brazil, and Australia.
