Hello Cello

„Hello Cello“ is a musical-theatrical interaction between two cellists and the actors of the Gorillas. After attending a Gorillas show, the two acclaimed cellists Moritz Ebert and Simon Hoffmann got into an animated conversation with the performers, and the idea for this joint project was born. The cello, normally a „classic“ for romance, longing and sensuality, is pushed through distortion and Moog filters to evoke science-fiction sounds and modern soundscapes, with Felix Raffel on keyboards adding further layers. The performance lasts about 2x45 minutes plus a 15-minute break – lively, surprising, entertaining and sometimes simply beautiful.
