Queen Luise and Auguste Princess of Liegnitz: guided tour.

A special guided tour through the New Wing of Charlottenburg Palace sheds light on two women of the Prussian royal court. It is led by Rudolf G. Scharmann, former palace director, together with the adult education centre VHS City-West. It focuses on Queen Luise, who was elevated to a mythical figure as Napoleon's opponent and mother of Emperor Wilhelm I, and Auguste Princess of Liegnitz, who as the morganatic second wife of Friedrich Wilhelm III. always stood in the shadow of her famous predecessor. Charlottenburg was shaped by the princesses, and the tours offer insights into their lives.
