Kreieren & Programmieren – “Tüftel-Samstag in der Humboldt Bibliothek”

At the Tüftel-Samstag in the Humboldt Bibliothek, children learn the creative use of technology in a drop-in format. The event is run by TüftelLab Berlin in cooperation with the library, and involves building and programming: participants make their own game controllers and create sound-producing pictures connected to the Makey Makey, so that games or self-designed artworks can be controlled via conductive materials. From about age five, electronics crafting creates circuits from simple materials like LEDs and conductive tape that light up paper cars, houses, insects and more; from about age eight, the Makey Makey is programmed. Participants aged 5 to 16 and their families take part free of charge, only accompanied by a guardian and without registration, with time-slot tickets handed out on site when demand is high.
