About
Modern Dance Fundamentals: Modern Dance für Anfänger is a weekly modern dance course for complete beginners held at UrbanRaum. It is taught by Livia Politi, a dancer and choreographer trained at the Folkwang-Universität der Künste under the direction of Pina Bausch who also studied at the Limón Institute and Movement Research in New York. In a relaxed atmosphere the course is about the pure joy of dancing: skills, coordination and strength are developed while the anatomical knowledge behind modern dance technique is explored and deepened. It consists of short sequences, exercises and flowing routines for weight shifts, turns, jumps, rolls and falls, and comfortable dance clothing, barefoot or in socks, is requested.
