Read the Room mit Ilija Matusko: Jugo

"Read the Room mit Ilija Matusko: Jugo" is a book premiere at the Roter Salon of the Volksbühne at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. It opens the Volksbühne's long-running literature series, which asks what stories contemporary authors tell. Ilija Matusko, a freelance author living in Berlin, reads from his novel debut "Jugo", a moving father-son portrait about family, the conflicts in the disintegrating Yugoslavia, and the feeling of never quite having arrived. It is a declaration of love to a father whose return to his old homeland was harder than his arrival in a foreign country.
