Silent Pianoversity: Dirk Flatau's solo piano concert.

In the Silent Pianoversity series, the city's pianists take the stage with solo sets every Sunday evening. Berlin-based pianist and composer Dirk Flatau performs his new solo programme 'Aufwind', built on intuitive ideas, impulses and utopian visions. Influenced by minimal music, impressionist classical music, pop culture and folklore, his music evokes underwater journeys, flights through distant galaxies, or simply a personal cinema of the mind. After many years as a bandleader, arranger and accompanist, he now steps into the spotlight as a soloist, exploring new ways of composing, listening and playing. The concert is part of the new Silent Series — quiet, immersive live experiences with optional headphone use — with three sets between 8 and 11 PM.
