Open heating cellars: heating without oil and gas.

On the Tag des offenen Heizungskellers (Day of the Open Heating Cellar), more than 1,000 flat and house owners across Germany open the doors of their heating cellars. The day of action is jointly organised by BUND, Campact, co2online, GermanZero, Greenpeace Deutschland and the Solarenergie-Förderverein Deutschland. Visitors can learn from neighbours who already heat without fossil fuels about heat pumps, costs and renovation – not from professionals with a sales interest. Around three dozen sites take part in Brandenburg and Berlin, from single-family homes to apartment blocks; visits are arranged via a map on offenerheizungskeller.de with a registration form.
