About
The evening shows the film The Call of Cthulhu, an adaptation of the short story of the same name. The H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society shot it in 2005 as a silent film in the original format of the 1920s, to remain authentic to the author's ambience. The anthropologist Thurston finds papers among his great-uncle's estate about a cult awaiting the resurrection of Cthulhu, a being said to have ruled the Earth aeons ago. The pre-feature film is Surprise!. Entry and participation are free, and no registration is required.

Critics
7.1Good
Critics praise the convincing silent-era style, period effects, score and the charm of a passionate low-budget fan film. They fault occasional stumbles in storytelling and the limits imposed by the amateur production.
