About
A jazz concert by the Vladimir Karparov Quartett at the b-flat club in Berlin. The Bulgarian saxophonist Vladimir Karparov leads his own quartet with Tarek Yamani on piano, Igor Spallati on bass and Peter Somos on drums. His own compositions fuse contemporary American-style jazz with the rhythmic and melodic color of Bulgarian folk music. Driven by rapid lines, odd meters and polyrhythmic structures, he also weaves classical music, tango, Turkish arabesque and gypsy elements into his rich sound cosmos.
