About
American Doctor is a documentary that follows three American doctors volunteering in Gaza's overwhelmed hospitals. Directed by Poh Si Teng and made in the USA, the State of Palestine, Malaysia, Qatar and Denmark, it shows the humanitarian catastrophe they witness compelling them to take their fight far beyond the wards and back to Washington. The film showcases the strength and moral fibre of Gaza's healthcare workers, even as centres of salvation are targeted by IDF missiles, while the doctors also appear on TV news, podcasts and radio, imploring the world to understand the humanitarian needs. The central trio of doctors are inspiring in their drive, bravery and compassion, though the unbearable images of atrocity leave a terrible weight of sadness.
