RYA VHF Radio Course plus Assessment

A one-day RYA VHF Radio Course (Short Range Certificate) teaching how to operate a VHF radio, from calling marinas to sending Mayday or PanPan distress signals, including Digital Selective Calling and traditional voice methods. It is run by First Class Sailing and prepares participants for the VHF Radio Assessment, a short written paper followed by a practical session, needed to obtain the VHF Radio Licence that is a legal requirement when a VHF radio is onboard and is required by many charter companies before you can charter a yacht. The event is open to anyone and takes place at CA House.
