Carer’s Rights Day 2026
About
Carer's Rights Day 2026 is a drop-in event for anyone who looks after a family member or friend with a disability, long-term illness or who is elderly. It is hosted by Haringey Council's Adult Social Care Independence and Early Intervention Team in collaboration with partners, and focuses on raising awareness of carers' rights in Haringey and helping unpaid carers understand their rights and access the right support at the right time. The morning offers short talks and sessions covering carer assessments and reviews, carer's allowance, advice and guidance, local services, employment rights and health and wellbeing offers, while the afternoon is filled with stalls from services, organisations and partners offering on-the-spot or follow-up advice. Attendees can mingle over lunch, teas and coffees, and there is a raffle with prizes celebrating the dedication of carers across Haringey.
