A hands-on online workshop on creating engaging scientific illustrations, run by the Geological Society. Earth scientist, author and illustrator Dr Lucia Perez-Diaz guides participants through the process of making scientific graphics from start to finish, drawing on her experience as a scientific author and illustrator. The course covers what makes successful visuals for communicating science, from figures for papers to field sketches, and needs no drawing ability, software or prior knowledge. It is aimed at scientists from PhD students to senior professionals across all disciplines.
