About
A talk in which two Palestinian writers come together around a new novel. Karim Kattan, with Tareq Baconi, discusses his novel 'Eden at Dawn', a sweeping queer love story that begins in Jerusalem and develops past the oppressive weight of occupation. In it, Gabriel and Isaac fall in love amid a sandstorm in the labyrinthine old city, lose each other, and find each other again on a daring journey across Jericho to the West Bank. Mixing traditional orality with classical culture and the marvellous with the tragically real, the story is a lyrical cry for love in a divided land.
