Glenn Ligon: Prompts

Prompts is an exhibition of works by the American artist Glenn Ligon at Thomas Dane Gallery. It brings together earlier and new pieces that inform, re-contextualise and 'prompt' one another, including variations of his 'AMERICA' neons, works based on Afrocentric colouring books, and new pieces such as Black Panther Coloring Book #2 and Redacted #15. Ligon, born in 1960 in the Bronx and based in New York, is known for creating bodies of work through subtle alterations and re-framing over years, sometimes decades. This is his sixth exhibition with the gallery.
