Critics
7.5Very good
Critics praise the 1978 film as an innovative, superbly crafted horror classic whose simplicity and ambiguity still frighten. The 2018 sequel earns only faint praise for Jamie Lee Curtis's return, with critics faulting its unoriginality, unnecessary characters, and disappointing finale.
