About
Lara Downes gives a solo piano recital of about one hour without an interval. She is a champion of classical music by women composers and Black Americans and an advocate for democracy and freedom. Her programme draws on her Pentatone releases 'Hold These Truths' and 'Love at Last', with works spanning generations, continents and cultures, united in a belief in humanity, brotherhood, peace, compassion and the power of love. It includes music by Bach, Schubert, Margaret Bonds, Oscar Peterson, Clarice Assad and others, in arrangements and original works.
