About
The Lewis Spitz & Edward M Kiely Symposium, held in honour of two of the most influential figures in paediatric surgery, is one of the highlights of the UK Paediatric Surgical calendar. It is directed by Mr Simon Blackburn and Professor Paolo De Coppi and brings together surgeons and multidisciplinary colleagues to explore key developments in clinical practice, clinical research, education and training. This year's symposium focuses on Education in Paediatric Surgery, examining current challenges, innovations and future opportunities in surgical training. It is followed by the 78th Simpson-Smith Memorial Lecture, delivered by Mr Joe Curry, and commemorates Alexander Simpson-Smith, a Great Ormond Street Hospital surgeon killed in action during the Second World War.
