About
A panel discussion and workshop titled "Living in an Algorithmic world: What can the Worshipful Company of IT Do?", examining how algorithmic systems shape decisions, services and information in everyday life, from recruitment and healthcare to content feeds and transport. It is hosted by the WCIT Social Value Leadership Group, with panellists Lexy Kassan of Databricks and Reema Patel of Elgon Social, moderated by Rashik Parmar MBE. The discussion looks at both the value algorithms can create and the risks of bias, discrimination, surveillance and privacy loss, and explores what practical action the Worshipful Company of IT can take to help members navigate the algorithmic age responsibly. It will also help shape the priorities for WCIT's December conference.
