About

Nine Below Zero, one of the UK's finest rhythm and blues bands, play a concert at Soul Mama in Islington marking the 45th anniversary of their 1980 live album 'Live at the Marquee'. Formed in 1979 and named after a Sonny Boy Williamson song, the band signed to A&M Records in 1980, releasing that seminal album and moving within a year from selling out the Marquee to the Hammersmith Odeon. Their first studio album, 'Don't Point Your Finger', followed in 1981, alongside appearances on the Old Grey Whistle Test and the South Bank Show.
