Reds on the Green: Lenin's time in Clerkenwell.

An evening event exploring Lenin's time in Clerkenwell and his connections with 37a Clerkenwell Green, today's Marx Memorial Library & Workers' School. Alex Gordon, a Trustee of the library, will discuss Lenin's ties to Marx House and the wider area, while actor Maxine Peake reads from the memoirs of Nadezhda Krupskaya, Lenin's comrade and wife, about the couple's everyday life in London. The session offers a chance to visit the historic Lenin Room, where Lenin worked in 1902–03, and to view some of the library's unique collection. The event is joint with Islington Heritage and free, with booking recommended as space is limited.
