About

A seminar on the 19th-century German paintings in the National Gallery's collection and what they reveal about the Gallery's growth and relations between Britain and Germany. Dr Lucy Wasensteiner, a Junior Professor of Art Historical Provenance Research at the University of Bonn, gives the talk, which looks ahead to the exhibition 'German Expressionism: Modern Painting 1900-1918'. It takes place in the Whitcomb Meeting Room in the Sainsbury Wing, followed by a one hour drinks reception, and will also be livestreamed. The event is currently fully booked.
