Something Wicked This Way Comes: a folk + cosmic horror rave
Rio Cinema, Kingsland High Street 107, E8 2PB London, Dalston
£17.50
About
A heretical multimedia rave that brings bog witches, old gods and other uncanny beings to the cinema after the season's horror screenings, promising a manifestation of love only their digital terrors could inflict. The lineup blends cosmic and folk horror, with live acts ranging from dark folk to trip-hop infused black metal and DJs playing jungle, hardcore, gabber, uk dubstep and grime. Footage from the season's two screenings serves as the visuals, and the stage before the screen is set aside for ritual dancing. The night runs on the Dream Emulator Soundsystem, with heavyweight sound and sub frequency communion expected.
