Workshops and courses
Songwriters Workshop with Andy Smythe: craft your own hits.
About
Songwriters Workshop with Andy Smythe is a Saturday afternoon songwriting session at Orpington Liberal Club, open to newcomers and beginners as well as seasoned songsmiths. Andy Smythe, who has written 200 songs and recorded 8 albums, shares what he has learned from his songwriting, including having Mike Scott of The Waterboys turn up at a gig after hearing his song 'Whiskey Priest'. The group analyses song structure and harmony and collaborates on attempts to write hit songs. You can bring pen and paper, perhaps a music stand, an instrument or just your singing voice, and sharing a song you are working on is welcome but not compulsory.
