About
Spooky Stage Set Design is a child-only workshop where young creators aged 8 to 12 design and build their own miniature spooky scenes, from creaky haunted houses to ghostly hideaways. Using craft materials and techniques used by professional theatre designers, participants make set design model boxes that bring atmosphere, storytelling and a touch of Halloween magic to life. The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm and lasts six hours, taking place in the Clore Learning Studio. It is led by Elizabeth Wright, a professional set and costume designer based in South West London who has worked with theatres across the UK, including Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, the New Vic, Storyhouse, Theatre by the Lake, Octagon Theatre Bolton and Hull Truck Theatre, as well as on the Royal Ballet & Opera's Schools Programme.
