The Wants: dark post-punk from New York, with Kiosk live.

A live concert at the indie venue The Social, with New York City band The Wants headlining and Leeds electronic duo Kiosk supporting. The Wants, founded in 2017 by songwriter, guitarist and producer Madison Velding-VanDam with drummer Jason Gates, mix grounded songwriting with unstable rhythms, mutated electronics and live instrumentation. After the acclaimed debut album Container (2020), the band – now also with synthesist Yasmeen Night – released the darker, more acerbic Bastard (2025), recorded by Peter Katis and praised as beguiling and enigmatic. Kiosk make electronic music influenced by industrial, dark wave and synth pop, coming up through Leeds' DIY scene.
