About
Touch Grass Day-Tripper: Wild Creatives (Upcycling) is a hands-on beginner-friendly workshop where you hand-sew and embroider a personal charm from fabric remnants to decorate your favourite bag or keys, using upcycled materials to reduce textile waste. It is run by Touch Grass CIC, an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour, and is an exclusive event for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour. The session is facilitated by Tiana, a Greenwich-based designer, stylist and maker known for her sustainable crochet accessories made from upcycled materials, a Kingston School of Art graduate who has collaborated with brands like Puma and Selfridges, appeared on BBC's Make It at Market (Season 3), and led workshops at the V&A Museum and Somerset House. The workshop is hosted to celebrate the launch of Touch Grass's first exhibition, Earth to Us, an archive of queer folk of colour in nature; materials and light refreshments are provided, attendees must be 18 or over, and the venue's ground floor is accessible, with the nearest step-free station being North Greenwich.
